In 1938 Paul E. Fisher started Fisher Roofing in Scottsbluff, Nebraska with a $1.00 bill. This bought him a used 55 gallon oil barrel, 3 used tractor sleeves to set the barrel on and a mop head. His first ladder was made by splitting a 2 x 6 board and nailing rungs on it. He acquired the rest of the materials on credit from local lumberyards. David and Shelley Knutson purchased the business in 1985. In 1999 after working for various other roofing companies Bill Seibert and his wife Tawney opened Fisher Roofing of Kearney. The company has expanded immensely from its simple beginnings, and has grown to service the entire state of Nebraska. After over 80 years Fisher Roofing continues to be family owned and operated.
